How Jersey Fly works

Rent a game-day jersey, or list yours and earn. Here is exactly what to do, step by step.

Renting a jersey

  1. Add a payment card. We use it to charge the rent, never more than the total shown before you book. There is no deposit hold. We would only charge again after the fact if the jersey came back damaged or was not returned.
  2. Find your jersey. Filter by team, size and condition. Set your game date and we only show jerseys that can arrive in time. Sort Nearest to me for cheaper, faster shipping, and look for the Verified badge.
  3. Book it. Instant Book confirms right away and charges now. Request to book is only charged if the seller accepts. For a game weeks out, Reserve it with a small deposit and we charge the balance and ship a few days before.
  4. It ships to you. When it arrives, do the arrival report within 24 hours. If it is not what was listed, tap Not as described and we refund you in full; your photos are the proof.
  5. Wear it for game day. Normal wear is expected and never charged.
  6. Photograph it, then send it back. Snap a return photo in the app so your condition is on record, fold the jersey into the same mailer, and attach the prepaid return label that was already inside. Schedule a free USPS pickup, hand it to your carrier, or drop it at a Post Office counter. Your only deadline is to drop it off by your return-by date, which is set from the day it is delivered.
  7. You are done. Once the seller receives and confirms it, there is nothing else to pay.

Listing and shipping a jersey

  1. Set up payouts. A one-time Stripe payout setup that verifies your identity. Listings cannot go live until this is done, but you can build the listing first.
  2. List your jersey. Snap the required photos with the in-app camera (front, back, tag), with no gallery uploads. Pick the condition tier and your price; you will see a suggested band and exactly what you earn per rental.
  3. Publish. Payout-ready sellers publish straight to active. Otherwise it saves as a draft you publish once payouts are set up.
  4. Set your availability. Block dates the jersey is unavailable and buyers cannot book an overlapping window. Vacation mode pauses every listing at once.
  5. Get a booking, then ship within 48 hours. Both labels, outbound and the prepaid return, are already generated and waiting on the rental page. Unshipped bookings auto-cancel with a full refund and count against your reliability.
  6. Photograph, then pack. Take a ship-out photo in the app, fold the jersey into a poly mailer, attach the outbound label, and tuck the prepaid return label inside so your renter ships back without printing anything.
  7. Drop at USPS. Postage is prepaid. We mark it shipped automatically on the first USPS scan.
  8. Get it back, photograph, confirm, get paid. Take an inspection photo within 48 hours and confirm. Your payout releases, or you open a damage claim with your photo as evidence.

Condition photos protect you both

Every rental has four quick photo checkpoints, two per side, taken with the in-app camera and timestamped. The seller photographs it once before it ships and once within 48 hours of getting it back. The renter photographs it once within 24 hours of delivery and once before shipping it back. Skip a photo and the rental still moves along, but you give up your evidence for that leg.

Fees and charges

What renters pay. The rental price plus a 10% service fee plus round-trip shipping. That is the full total shown before you enter a card.

No deposit or hold. We never place a hold on your card. Nothing pending, nothing frozen. Normal game-day wear is expected and never billed. The only time we charge it is if the jersey comes back late, damaged, or not at all, and then only for the late fee, repair or replacement, up to $1,500.

What sellers earn. The rental price minus a 15% commission. Shipping is covered by the renter, not taken from your earnings. Your payout releases about two days after the jersey is returned and you confirm it.
